Withdrawls

It's been 24 hours since I've had a binkie. Last night wasn't too bad but this morning I hit a low spot. I cried, search high and low for my "nigh nigh," and begged mom and dad to give in. But I'm going to make it- I have the love and support of my parents.
This morning, Hayden woke up crying. I thought it was a binkie withdrawl. But when I went in to get him be was completely naked. He was crying because he had wet his bed. The diaper, found in his bed, was completely dry so we think he pulled it off early last night. Not sure if this is part of the withdrawls or if he was just hot.

More on Hayden's Week

Hayden loves hidding in the pillows on our bed.
(Yes, I know we need to get rid of the binky soon. We limit it to bed time, so now he calls it his "nigh nigh". I just need to thrown them all away one weekend. I don't know if I'm strong enough yet. Actually this would be a good weekend for it- a nice long weekend so the poor babysitter doesn't have to deal with his fits.)Art time got out of control this weekend. More pen ended up on Hayden than on the paper. So I went ahead and labeled a few body parts.
But Hayden had fun.
He loves turning on his CD player and dancing around the room.
His dance moves entail a lot of spinning. So he ends up falling on the ground and watching the room spin.

More Vacation Pics

On the drive to Monterey, we stopped at the Santa Barbara Zoo.
Hayden enjoyed it more than I thought he would. He was really interested in all the animals.
Hayden, look this way!

Pajaro Dunes with The Utu's

I'm back from vacation and ready to tell you all about my week. We meet daddy's good friend Jeff Utu and his family at Pajaro Dunes for the week.We stayed at this house on the dunes which (lucky for me) was steps from the beach.Every day we'd hang out at the beach. We played in a big hole someone dug (mom calls it a large play pin).I loved climbing up the walls. And rolling down them. I got plenty of sandy faces during the week.Mailee was a good "big sister" to me. She loved carrying me around (when I'd let her).
Do you like my Cal Poly shirt?
I also like playing in the waves. The first day I enjoyed the waves best in mommy's arms. I would laugh and squeel when she'd run in and out of the waves. By the second day I was ready to get my own feet wet (no pictures of this- sorry). Whew, that was a long day playing at the beach. Come on dad, I'll take you home for a nap.
Here's Akela and I in the big red bath tub in the master bath room. It was so deep mom had to put her swim suit on and get in to help us!

Until next time, I hope your vacations are as fun as mine!

Before Dinner Treat

I started to eat the last juice bar and got caught by Hayden. He kept pointing at it "that? that?" and lost all interest in the quesadilla Dad made him for dinner. So, we implemented what I learned from my Aunt Marj- eat your dessert first so you don't get too full from dinner. Now what kid would argue with that?!
This time we taught him how to lick it. He caught on very quickly.
We are leaving tomorrow for Monterey, meeting The Utu's for a week vacation. I thought I'd post a couple pictures tonight, otherwise there would be a large break (> 7 days). That's the threshold, 7 days. After the 7th day, I get e-mails like this- Aunt Debbie on July 11, 2008- "Hey, they don't have to be perfect! Just GIVE us some, PLEEEASE! It HAS been more than a week, after all, and we don't want to miss out on his goings on...". It's nice to know people out there read the blog! Definitely keeps me motivated to take pics and post. So, I'm listening Debbie- this post is for you.
