More from Sept

Hayden asked his teacher to give him a Mohawk.
Ahhh, group pictures with two kids.

If they only got along this well all the time!
Hailey looks a little suspicious, "why is he being so nice?"

Last one from the Ranch Visit

Here we are at Rebecca and Alan's house after picking carrots. The kids enjoyed their toys and swing set.
Grandmas pushing the grandkids.
Randy joined the fun too!
Then in the afternoon Randy, Jason, and Hayden took a hay ride to the field for lunch.
Hayden's first hay ride!
Yum, hamburger!
Lunch with good friends.
I caught a cute little kiss on camera!
The cousins and their grandma.
Hayden in the field after flying a kite.
Running back to watch the game of horseshoes.
Then that evening Grandpa Ficht and Alan took Hayden and Zackery fishing. Look who caught his first fish!
Here's grandpa teaching Hayden how to clean it.
And miss Hailey eating her dinner.

Carrots Anyone?

The next day the gang headed to the field to pick carrots with the rest of the guest ranch.
Hayden yelled "scrumptious!" when this photo was taken.
I'm not sure which is dirtier, Hayden's face or the carrot.
Emma May and Hayden
Hailey roaming the field.
Hey, who took a bite out of that carrot?

Dad!
Hayden and his new friends.
Hailey's looking like she missed a nap!
The Rankins took the carrots back to the house and the guest ranch kids made carrot cake for dessert. Hayden and I took our carrots home and made "carrot stew" (Hayden's terminology), it was actually pureed so it should be called carrot soup but Hayden corrects me every time I say soup. "No, carrot stew!"

Next, Swimming

After the school carnival came swimming.
Hailey is a little water baby.
And Hayden is a pretty independent swimmer these days.
The pool washed off any mustache that was left.
Look how long she's getting!

Weekend in Walker Basin

Last weekend we traveled to an area in Kern County (about an hour outside of Bakersfield) called Walker Basin. Jason's family has been going there for years, to the Rankin Ranch. Recently Jason's parents rented a house up there and we got to visit them and enjoy the fun.
Immediately after arriving on Saturday morning, Randy, Jason and Hayden headed to a carnival/fund raiser at the local elementary school.
Hayden got dressed as a cowboy...
and meet some new friends.
He even got to spend some time in jail!
What a fun day with papa!!!

We went to the Rankin Ranch last weekend but I haven't had time to upload photos. Here's just a sneak peak until I find time this weekend.

Fresh Off the Vine

Hailey discovered our community garden.
She and Hayden were playing on the slide...
when Brookie showed Hailey the tomato vine.
Let me see how these taste.

Yum!
