We arranged a last minute trip to Hawaii at the end of summer. It started off rocky with a flight delay out of LAX. Here we are killing time.
But it was all up hill after that! The kids were great travelers.
Hailey drinking some lemonade in the hotel lobby. To our surprise, we got the most AMAZING upgrade. From a garden view room to a 3 bed/4 bath villa.
Supposedly they had over sold rooms and needed our 2 families to jointly occupy the villa. It was such a blessing!
The 3,400 sq ft villa was much more comfortable than the 300 sq ft room! Here's a picture of the kids on the patio looking back into the living room.
The hotel had 4 pools and a great beach. So we spend 80% of our waking hours in the water!
Usually mornings at the beach.
Playing in the waves.
Paddle boarding and snorkeling.
Then we'd rinse the sand off and head right to the pool.
This was the view from the bottom pool.
And the view from the top pool/Jacuzzi.
More from the bottom pool.
One night we cooked dinner in. Here's the patio table.
Using the villa BBQ.
View from the patio.
From the patio lawn looking back at the resort's pool.
Looking the opposite direction.
The villa had a spa.
Kids taking a needed break from the water.
They'd only get out of the water to eat and sleep!
The most beautiful sunset dining!
Still hard to believe this was a free upgrade. And the maid staff came after dinner and cleaned up all the dishes! We tried to help and they wouldn't let you!
The main lobby had a sand box the kids could play in. And each morning it had sand art. Hailey would walk with me and grandma to the lobby to get coffee for the family.
Barely awake and already in the ocean!
The beach in front of our place was so nice. The resort had chairs and umbrellas. The waves weren't too big so the kids could play safely.
Morning view from our patio.
Hailey in the spa.
Playing with the pillows and fancy chair.
Night swimming.
Relaxing by the pool.
Lua time!
The pig.
The kids loved watching the dancing.
It was a great show.
The kids up on stage.
Building a sand castle.
Having dinner at Monkey Pod. We love their Mai Tai s!
Hanging in the lobby.
