Palm Desert Oct 2011

Last weekend we visited Palm Desert. Here are the kids and Angela.
Hailey's always hugging her brother.
Hayden in front of the trains at the Living Desert.
And Hailey too.
The giraffe exhibit.
Rosy cheeks.
Hayden got to feed the giraffe. I cut off his face in the pictures. Opps.
Remember this picture from a couple years back (March 2009).
He's now moved up from the wild hog to the cheetah bronze statue.
Hailey at the desert animal show. She only made it through the first 2 birds before I had to take her out. She's not quite ready to sit still that long.
Hayden REALLY liked the new kid's Discover Center inside the Living Desert. And his favorite was this "hill".
As long as you were smaller than the lizard you could climb.
Afterwards, Hayden enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool while Hailey napped.
This is Hailey at dinner the next evening. I have a big gap in pictures.
Family picture at breakfast on Sunday morning. Can't remember if this is before or after Hayden's major melt down because we wouldn't let him open another mini coffee creamer (right after he had spilt the first one).
Park time!!!
Can both kids fit through the pirate ship?
And Hailey enjoying the swing.

Hailey's First Pumpkin

We had to bring a pumpkin to Hayden's school this week.
And Hayden picked out a tiny one at the store for Hailey
What a nice brother!
She was so interested in both pumpkins! I can't wait to see what she does when we carve them next weekend.

Then the hug-fest started.
Hailey (on her own with no prompting) started hugging Hayden.
What a nice sight.
Sibling love.

Early Oct

Hailey's getting so tall. Last Dr visit she was 75th percentile in heigh and 50th percentile in weight.
Hayden made a potion last weekend.
Yummy, Mummy Potion. He plans on being a mummy for Halloween.
Here he's adding gummy frogs to the mixture.
All done!
Hey, how did Hailey get whipped cream on her pacifier? She must have dipped it in Hayden's hot chocolate!
Who me? Prove it!

"Wanna Race?"

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Alamitos Bay next to beach papa and grandma's house.
Hailey loves the water! Here she is giving her best beach body pose.
And Hayden's always a big fan of beach days.
Here comes Hailey.
She made dozens of trips between the water and the bucket.
Time to relax on the beach chair.
Hayden has been wanting to race everyone lately. Here he is racing papa.
Hailey wants to race too!
My turn.
Racing dad.
Hey, wait! What is that? Did Hayden push Jason out of the way right at the finish line?
Gloating in his victory.
He's very modest when he wins.
At least there was four of us to alternate racing. He wore us out! He's a very intense and competitive racer!
