Hailey Ballerina

Hailey had her first ballet class last Thursday.  She's in a class with my friend' Laura's daughter Zoe.  They were so cute together. And they were born just 1 week apart!

It was really hard to watch the class because there was just one glass door that all the moms were trying to peak into.
These are iPhone photos through a glass door.
Not great quality but the best I could do.
Hailey was SO excited about the class and talked about it all week.  It was really hard to wait until Thursday.
She did a great job!  She listened to the teacher and did all the moves.  She can't wait until next class!

Saturday Mornings

With his free time, Hayden LOVES to draw.  And Saturday mornings are special because daddy can draw with him!  Today, Hayden wanted daddy to show him how to draw a bear.  So they looked up an image on the iPad and started drawing on trace paper that spans the table.
 Daddy's bear.
 Hayden's bear.
 Well, bears and forest scene.
And miss Hailey likes to listen to her CD player in her room and dance.
And just to document this so we don't forget.  Hailey wakes every day with a rats nest which she HATES to have brushed.  We've tried everything, good conditioners, brushing right before bed, etc.  So if anyone else has any good tricks let me know.

Weekend Mornings

Right now, the kids are at different stages.  Hailey loves to play outside and Hayden is a home body.
This makes weekends hard to do stuff as a group where everyone is happy.
This morning, Hailey decided she wanted to garden.
A good choice- outside yet at home!
That way this guy could stay inside and play.
Aren't six year old boys supposed to be outside riding bikes?
And being close to home is good when you could use a wardrobe change!
 3 year old + water.
And when Haydne's not drawing, this is what he does, plays with his action figures.
He actually spent the first part of the morning cleaning his room- without being asked!  We have friends coming over and he wanted his room clean.  This made my heart happy!
And once his room was clean, he couldn't let all that empty space go to waste!  He had to fill it with his super heros!

Failed Photo Session

I finally dusted off my camera and tried to take some pictures of the kids tonight.  Here's how it went.  "Come one kids, get together for a quick picture."
Hailey, "Look Mom, the sun's going down."
Mom, "I know, hurry."
"No, stand next to each other."
*Hayden's look of horror at the mere suggestion.*
Which quickly turned to a look of pain once he realized I was serious.
 Quick smile...
 Then run away.
"Hayden, get back here!"
 "No, closer."
"Come on, put your arms around each other."
Hayden's trying really hard to keep his back arm from touching Hailey's back.
"Hayden, stay there or I'll take away your new book!"
"I give up."
