More Camping- Elephant Seals

The group on the third day of camping.
We drove a little north to see the Elephant Seals on the beach.
There are hundreds just laying on the beach.  It's fun to see.
Hailey trying to get up on the fence like a big kid.
 Mailee and Niko.
Tasi fell asleep in the car and the rest of the group stayed back at the camp site.
 Smile!
 Hailey climbing up like brother.

Walking the path...  Hailey lead the way.  She's super independent right now.
Smile again.

Camping- First 24 Hours

We took our official first camping trip as a family (with kids that is).  We borrowed Beach Grandpa and Grandma's tent and camping supplies...  And their big van to fit it all!
We went with our dear friends- The Utu's.  And luck for us, Mailee and Niko joined our van for the ride up.  It was perfect- they keep our kids entertained so the ride was very pleasant.  Here's a picture from one point in the drive when they were all asleep at the same time!
Niko was generous enough to give Hailey a lollipop...
 See was very pleased!
We meet other friends at the camp site in San Simeon.  Some were Jeff and Lisa's friends from either Bend, OR (their current home), Menlo Park, CA (their previous home), or Long Beach, CA (original home).  And one of Jeff's friends brought a pig to roast!  The kids were fascinated, as you can see.  He's prepping it for the BBQ in this picture.  Rosemary, sesame oil, salt, pepper, onion, and garlic.  And steamed sweet potatoes.  So good!
 Jeff and Jason!
Here's Hayden entertaining the kids before dinner.  I think he was dancing silly to make everyone laugh.  And he made sure he stayed up to try the pig.  And I unfortunately didn't get a picture of the cooked pig, which looked much more appetizing than the raw piglet above!
The next morning we headed to San Simeon pier right across from Hearst Castle.  Both kids got very little sleep- so Hailey fell asleep in the van on the drive down and missed the beach entirely.
But not Hayden- no, he'll never stop for a nap!  Even when he really needs one.
And he always makes sure I get a picture of him running.
 Digging with Mailee and Niko.
Hayden's very pleased with himself because he sat in Niko's hole he just dug.

Bucket races!

Random Mobile Uploads

It's been nearly two weeks since I last posted and I simply have not taken any photos.  So instead I down loaded what I had on my phone... probably a good 7 months worth of random photos.  Enjoy.
Hayden hugging Pluto.  This must be around Christmas time, given Pluto's attire.
Documenting Hailey's artwork which extended to my white desk.  When I asked her, "Hailey, did you do this?" She proudly replied, "Yes!"  Thankfully, Beach Grandpa got it out with paint thinner!
Oh my, what must poor Hailey be thinking... Such a strange brother.  Always playing dress up.  And for the record, we really don't encourage this.
Doesn't he look like a Taliban fighter?  Looks like he belongs in the back of a small pickup truck in the middle of the desert with 15 other men.
Looking for shells at Morro Bay.
Clam Chowder at GAFCO in Morro Bay.
 Yum!
They sat us near the fish tank...  Smart people!
Easter weekend cousin Izzy came to visit.
 Hailey LOVES babies.
Jamba Juice.  I love fat little toddler fingers!
Do you get that excited about your smoothies?
 Lunch at Disneyland.
Hayden is always asking me to take pictures of his toys.  Here's one of many examples I found on my phone.
I got to babysit Baby Izzy at CHOC a couple months ago.  Love her!  Praying she gets a liver real soon...
Best park ever.  Right on Main Beach in Laguna.
Had a fun play date there with some great friends.
Captain America.  This costume comes out at least once a week.
Body/Face paint at the school carnival.
 My pretty girl!
Hayden choose a super hero mask for his face paint... as if there was another option.
Siblings!  And my kids hate clothes, it's so hard to keep them dressed!
 Saturday morning coffee...
 Coffee shop is found here...
If you're local and haven't been, you need to try it!  Great coffee and super fun.  And there's a nice outdoor seating area the kids enjoy.  And if you go in the afternoon, the kids will like the Gelato shop next door. :)
Merry-go-round at Disneyland
Hailey's reaction when it's time to leave Disneyland.
Taking the ferry home from a picnic at the beach.
And lastly, this is what Jason's doing right now... AutoCAD!  He's trying to get work done so we can go on vacation next week.  Figured I'd document it so the kids will some day appreciate all his hard work.  :) Happy Father's Day!  We love you.
