Palm Desert- Fun in the Sun

This picture shows you how much fun Hayden had!!!
Here he is in his first pair of swim trunks.

We got them wet for the first time in Angela's fountain (just dipped his feet).
Hanging out in Angela's yard.
Look at how he looks at Angela! They have a special bond.
Walking around Angela's community. It was a beautiful day.
Alyson and Tyler holding Hayden. They are expecting their first child in Sept.
A group photo at taken at the club house.
First time in a golf cart. Don't worry, Hayden wasn't in it while it was moving.
Jason, Hayden, Loren, and Angela
We had a GREAT weekend in Palm Desert! Hayden had a lot of "firsts"- first time to the Desert, first time in a golf cart, first time meeting Uncle Loren, first swim trunks, etc. We left Orange County on Thursday night so we had a nice long weekend. Jason's parents, sister (Alyson) and brother-in-law (Tyler) met us there. They stayed at Richard and Linda's (Randy and Sue's very good friends from High School) condo. While Jason, Hayden and I stayed with Angela.

Here's a run down of our time:
Friday- Jason and I got to sleep in!!! Every morning Angela would take Hayden after his early morning feeding and they would hang out while we slept in. Hayden loved it- he would talk to Angela (his language of course) until he fell asleep for his AM nap. We then ate breakfast at Karen's- a very good cafe near Angela's house. Then the girls and Hayden went to the outlet stores in Cabazon while Jason and Randy went golfing. That evening we ate dinner at Chipelli's (not sure of the spelling), a great Italian restaurant that Angela recommended. Hayden wasn't on his best behavior that evening so he didn't get to see much of the restaurant. We all took turns with him outside!

Saturday- Jason and Randy woke up VERY early for a 6:30 tee time. After they got back we all headed to the baseball fields in Cathedral City to watch Jason's cousin Autumn play softball. Unfortunately we didn't get to see her play but her team won the game. That evening we BBQ'ed steaks at Richard and Linda's condo. We played poker, bocci ball, and Boggle. And we had an ice cream cake for my birthday.

Sunday- We ate breakfast at Angela's community Country Club and walked around the pool area. Her community is very nice. Jason says it's "like living on a cruise ship." There are so many activities- pool tables, swimming pool, dance hall, library, bocci ball courts, tennis courts, golf. We also took a tour of the community via golf cart. After Hayden's mid-day nap we headed to Jason's Uncle Loren's condo to have lunch and visit. He's lived in Palm Desert for years in a tennis community. Loren is a very good tennis player.
