Every 4
th there is a kids parade in our neighborhood. We walked down to it with some other neighborhood families.
Everyone decorates their bike for the event (except Hayden b/c he has lazy parents).
Hayden watched the parade for a while before deciding to jump in.
Hayden thought he was the "Grand Marshall".
Hayden did a very good job staying on his bike.

among the crowd and waved at Hayden.
The parade ended at Mariners Park with a big
carnival. Hayden's still too young to enjoy most of the rides but next year he'll have a blast.

After the parade/carnival- Hayden took a 3 hour nap! Then we had our block party.

Then we started the block firework show. Hayden would have walked right up to the fireworks if I let him. He had no fear- the noises didn't even scare him. Vivian didn't like the noise- you can see she's wearing head phones.

Then we headed down to the harbor to watch the Newport City fireworks from Vivian's Uncle Steve's boat. He has a beautiful restored 1924 boat (oldest in the harbor) that had the perfect viewing angle for the fireworks. This was the last picture I got before the battery on my camera died.
