One Very Busy Day

We started off bright and early with some finger painting.

Hayden's been eyeing the box in this closet for weeks now asking to play with the "play dough". We finally let him play with it. To his surprise it was much better than play dough!
He's the artist making some hand prints. Then after nap time, we headed out for our first bus ride (all three for the OCTA buses). Hayden is VERY fond of buses and was very excited. We took the bus a short distance to Fashion Island via PCH.In case you're wondering who rides the buses in Newport Beach- apparently just us. Actually it was pretty full on our ride home just after 5 pm.Hayden checked out every inch of that bus. He keep muttering phases such as "bus ride", "big bus", "round and round", and "move on back" (the last two are lines from Wheels on the Bus- this favorite song).Once at Fashion Island we headed over to the Koi Pond- along with all the other families with young children! Hayden loved jumping from slab to slab and was quite annoyed that Dad wouldn't give him any breathing room. I didn't know which one would end up in the Koi Pond first. Luckily they both stayed dry. After Jason deemed the busy Koi Pond "too stressful" we moved along...to an old favorite- the Carousel.
But even with all his experiance on the mechanical horses, Hayden decided mid-ride he did NOT want to be on an oscilating stallion.

So they enjoyed the bench instead.

I know what the problem with the carousel must have been -- Hayden wasn't wearing a shirt with a horse on it!
