Archery Practice

Here's Hayden getting ready to go outside and use his bow for the first time.
And Hailey got the little toy bow from the movie Brave.  It has arrows with suction cups.
 She's ready to go too.
Ok, I confess.  I just couldn't decide between these three photos so I just added them all.
Hayden drew a target on a piece of paper and we nailed it to a tree outside.
Here's Dad showing him how it works.
And grandma came to watch too.  She and I made sure Hailey and Roscoe were both behind Hayden when he practiced.
Surprisingly, he did a really well.  There were no stray arrows.  Or frustration tantrums.
He had been talking about this day for months!
 One happy little Robin Hood.
Ok, these two pictures are very similar too but I just couldn't decide.
Hailey wasn't too interested in her set.  She had more fun putting the suction cups onto the car window during our drive up.
Later that day Sylas helped Hayden.
Doesn't Hayden look like a little mountain man with that beanie and jacket?
He did a great job listening to instruction.
 Now, give it a try.
 Action shots.

Hayden would get his whole body into pulling back the strings.
He was so proud of himself!
He had fun.  And hasn't asked about the bow and arrow since.  Which is probably for the best since there's no place to use these where we live.
Hailey came to join in the fun.  She's wearing her panda hat backwards.

A look back at the house.
Silly girl...
 squatting by a tree.
