Instead of practicing what I learned, I went to Sammy's to purchase a 50 mm lens. After trying it out in the store (this shot), I couldn't resist. I love the sharp, shallow focus and blurred back ground effect.
So, I cheated. My pictures now look much better. Not because I'm a better photographer, but because I now have an awesome lens!
I bribed the kids to go with me. I told them if they were good in the store they would get a lollypop and then we'd go to the park.
The good news is, I got to practice with my new lens at the park.
The bad news is, they both had stained faces from their ring pops!
Hailey's was red, Hayden's blue. But, I guess it's real life. They are rarely clean these days. Something is always messy- if it's not the face, it's the clothes or hair.

Speaking of hair, she still refuses to let me to anything with it. She'll occasionally let the neighbor girls or Reyna but it in a pony.
He's getting so big.

They love to pick out books.

Then, when we got home, the kids played with the neighbor kids.
