Hayden's Army Themed Birthday Party

 And the next weekend we had Hayden's Birthday Party.

 Seems like he finagled two parties.  Oh well.  It was Army Man themed.

 Hayden anxiously awaiting his friends arrival.

 Before the party, Paige gave him a present.  It was the hat he has on in this picture.  She has a similar one that he likes to borrow.  She was super sweet and went to the store and got him one in army print!

 We had a mini boot camp.

 First you sign up and get your dog tag.

 Then Jason had them line up and he was the drill sergeant.  Inspecting their uniforms!

 Hayden thought it was pretty funny.

 Jumping jacks.

 Then target practice with plastic cups.  Sylas's present to Hayden for Christmas, a Nerf gun, came in very useful.  

 Grenade practice too.  Tossing tennis balls into pails.

 I'm not sure if the girls were as into the army theme as the boys where!

 School friends!

 Next Paige and Vivi hid the army men.  Green for the girls, brown for the boys.

 They then had to find as many as they could.  Girls quickly found most of the green men, while the boys only had 1!  Turns out, the brown are really had to find- they blend into too well.  I think we are still missing a couple.

 Next- bandage up the wounded solder and carry him/her to the hospital.

 Girls vs. Boys again.  It just turned out that way.  Fairly even number of kids and the girls were a little leery of the rowdy boys!

More presents.  He had a great time.  Thanks to all the family and neighbors for helping Jason and I set it up and execute.  Another birthday party down- whew!  They are fun but exhausting.  At least the kids love them and have great memories.  Makes it worth it.
