Hailey's 5th Birthday Party

Hailey wanted a Mermaid Themed party.  So all the neighborhood girls helped me decorate and plan it.

The party was on Sunday so all Saturday Paige helped with the decorations.
She hung ballons, streamers, and puffs.  And Sunday morning Brooke drew the Mermaid for a game.
And Suzanne painted a "Under the Sea" sign.
Then on Sunday before any guests arrived, the girls gave Hailey their present.  But first she had to find it.  They created a fun Scavenger Hunt for her!

 Clue #9.

And the final one- Clue #10
By the time I made it to the cabana she had already ripped into Vivi's present.
A cute ivivva dress (which is all the rage right now).
And perfect for her active lifestyle!  It has little bike shorts underneath the dress.
And pink Converses from Brooke and Paige.
 Happy girl!
Last minute prep before the guest arrived.
Paige had the idea to make the 5 out of puffs.  Sue and I helped her make puffs on Saturday.  I'm so lucky that the whole neighborhood and family help with my kid's parties!
Hanging the pin the tail on the mermaid game.
 Adding the final rhinestones.
It's done!  And the party designer herself- Miss Paige!
Then Beach Grandma came.  She made these fabulous Mermaid tails for all the kids.  They got to decorate them during the party.  They were a big hit.

Pink for the mermaids and blue for the mermen.
And we had puzzles and Jenga on the table.  Along with chalk to draw your favorite ocean animal (side walk chalk comes in handy with a concrete table top!).
 Our favorite taco guy- Felipe.
 Pre-party Jenga.

Brooke did facepainting for the kids.  A little practicing on Paige before kids arrived.  She painted for 2-3 hours straight.
 Sisters!
Hailey and I made blue Jello stars (star fish).

Hailey got to be first in line.
 A little crab.
Alli and Rylan.  And a teacher from Hailey's school- Christine.
Mermaid tail craft table in action.  Hayden helped with this craft and several mom's complimented me on what a nice boy he was and very helpful!
 Little man Ryo.
 Red fish.

Jenga was a hit with the parents!

Hayden got seaweed for his facepaint.
 Happy Birthday cake!
I think we had about 50 guest between school kids (10 kids + their families) and the neighbors.  The kids had so much fun- which made all the prep work worth it.
But the best part was the after-party!  A huge water ballon fight broke out!  Kids vs. Jason.
What out dad, Hailey's got a water ballon!
Watch out Hailey, he caught it!  Run!

The kids running to the back yard where Brooke was filling the water ballons for them.

 The favors where beach pails.
I made Hailey write her name on all 24 of the thank you card attached to them!
More water fight pics.  Look at the joy on those faces (Jason's included)!
Watch out!  Paige has a bucket.
 Don't worry, Jason deserved it.
He's the one who started it.  And the only one that threw a water ballon into the house!

It turned out to be one VERY fun and memorable day!
