Jason's Trip to Abu Dhabi and Dubai

My latest work trip took me to Abu Dhabi and Dubai within the United Arab Emirates. The "sail" building in the background is a 7 star hotel with room rates starting at $2000 a night (I wasn't staying there). This is the World's largest Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
This is a hotel in Abu Dhabi that cost 4 billion dollars to construct (we didn't stay there either).

This is a new development in Dubai with a very nice man-made river cutting through the middle.

One of my co-workers is from Afghanastan (the guy second from right) and his cousin (the guy on the left) is the Ambasador to the United Arab Emirates from Afghanastan. We got a chance to tour the Afghan embassy under construction Abu Dhabi.
On our project site in Abu Dhabi is a Sheik's private retreat. It is designed to look like something out of the South Pacific.
Here I am standing in front of the Sheik's pool with the Persian Gulf behind.
Our job site is coastal property on the Persian (Arabian) Gulf. The water is aqua and the beaches are very nice.
My co-workers and I had to take a boat to our job site. The project site is a hugh island next to Abu Dhabi and when finished it will be a new city.
Flying over Dubai I got a glimps down on one of the "Palm Island" developments. This is a man-made series of peninsulas arranged in the shape of a palm tree to maximize ocean front property.

Great pictures of your latest trip, Jason. Guess you didn't stay in one of the "upscale" hotels after purchasing the plane ticket!! I look forward to hearing more about your projects.
Hello to Hayden and his spiffy new shoes.
