4th of July Parade

Turns out the Mariner's Parade was on Saturday- not Sunday as I had thought. Luckily Jason went outside in the morning to talk with the neighbors and discovered this. Maggie and Vivian both jumped in and helped decorate Hayden's bike so he wouldn't be left out.
The whole block biked to the parade but Hayden just couldn't keep up with the group. And the more Jason and I urged him to hurry up the more annoyed, and slow, he became. He's such a stubborn child- I don't know where he gets this! :)
Here we are waiting on a side street for the parade to thin out so we could jump in. Waiting can be very hard for a three year old.
After the parade, Hayden and Dad checked out the fire trucks and police motorcycles.
Then we got in line for the bounce houses- yep that was the line! Crazy. One guy walking past commented "I'd understand if it was the beer line." He obviously doesn't have a toddler.
And Hayden had a very hard time understanding why I placed the torture device on his wrist. He didn't see the correlation between the wrist band and getting on the rides. And when I put it on him, I made sure to make it just the right size that it wouldn't fall off but wouldn't be too tight. Well, next time I'll make sure to make it a little bigger because there was no way of getting that thing off without scissors. And trust me we tried.
That's one big slide for a little guy! And he had to go by himself because Mom didn't buy a wrist band for herself.
He did it! And loved it. First thing he said afterwards was "let's do it again" until he realized that meant standing in line again. So, we moved on to some other rides.
We lurred him away from the rides with some frozen yogurt. The plan was I would start walking home with Hailey then Jason and Hayden would follow after the yogurt. Well, it turns out Hayden's shoes and helmet were in the bottom of the stroller. And Hayden wouldn't ride his bike barefoot because the spikes on the pedals hurt his feet. Jason called to have me come get them but my cell phone was off (opps!). So, Jason had to carry Hayden home- a good 15-20 minute walk. Such a good Dad!
