Fireman for a Day

We heard through the grapevine that OCFA was having an Open House this Saturday (thanks Hector!).
So we wrangled Hayden into the car for some "forced fun". He initially wanted to stay home and watch Peter Pan (a movies he's already seen). And it's a good thing we did. He had a blast!
Hailey did too.
They had a ton of engines on display and the kids were able to crawl up inside and look in every compartment.
Here's Hayden checking out the inside of an ambulance.
Here is Hayden showing dad how the fire engine works.
Hayden is making siren noises as he "drives" the fire engine.
Hayden turning the real siren on in the siren maintenance room.
Then we watched the firemen demonstrate how they rescue people from a "burning" building.
Here they are making their entrance.

The kids are rescued. Hayden was very disappointed he wasn't chosen to be a victim.
More fire engines.
Hayden wanted to dress up like a real fireman. Here he is trying to stay upright with the heavy helmet on his head.
He actually fell over the first time he put all the equipment on. Mom is helping him stay upright.
Here is the fireman rescuing Hayden after he fell he over from the weight of the helmet and the jacket.
"OK I'm done."

What a special day! Hayden certainly got to try all of the equipment. How does he feel about being a fireman when he
"grows up?" I guess he'd want them to lighten the weight of the uniform though.
